You spend a summer with the teams that buy, trade and risk manage the assets Rothesay holds to pay the pensions it insures. Rothesay is a pensions insurer. A company's pension scheme pays it a lump sum, and in return Rothesay takes on the promise to pay those members' pensions for the rest of their lives. That money has to be invested so the payments can always be met, and the Trading and Asset Origination functions are the teams that find, evaluate and buy those assets and manage the risks around them. Your application is considered across three areas, trading, asset origination and quantitative risk trading, and you are placed in one of them.

The programme runs for 8 weeks from June 2027 in London. It opens with a fundamentals week on Rothesay, your team and the financial services industry, and then mixes work on the desk with technical and business skills training off it.
