You advise wealthy individuals and families on pensions, tax and the rest of their finances, and look after a set of these clients as their wealth planner. This is an adviser seat at Cazenove Capital, the wealth management business of Schroders.

The wealth planners give the regulated financial advice in the business, and planning is often where a new client's relationship starts. Portfolio managers decide what to invest a client's money in. You work out what the money is for, when it will be needed, and how it should be held, spent, given away and passed on.

The word chartered in the seat's name points to Chartered Financial Planner, a senior professional title for financial planners in the UK. Regulated advice means advice covered by the rules of the Financial Conduct Authority, the UK regulator, so it must be suitable for the client and properly recorded.
