What the job is
You analyse the buildings and property deals a Canadian pension investor might buy, and build the models that show what they would earn, as a Senior Analyst at PSP Investments in London. The seat is in Real Estate Investments, which puts pension money into property around the world for the very long term, owning offices, warehouses, homes and other buildings directly or alongside partners who run them. You work with the investment managers who lead each deal, and you lead the financial modelling, working with the team's analysts and senior analysts.
Because the money must pay pensions for decades, the team can hold a building far longer than a typical property fund and looks for steady rent that rises over time. Deals come in several forms, buying an asset directly, buying a company that owns property, buying a secondary share, which is an existing investor's stake in a fund or venture, or committing to private funds.
