Sustainable Fitch is part of Fitch Group and sits inside Fitch Solutions rather than the credit ratings business. Most of Fitch judges whether a borrower will repay. This team judges what the borrower's business does to the environment, to people and to how it is run, which the industry calls environmental, social and governance analysis.

Its products include sustainability ratings and scores, second party opinions, where an outside analyst checks whether a green bond's promises stand up before it is sold, reviews of bonds under the European green bond rules, and research.
