What the job is
You help the EBRD lend to and invest in energy projects in Europe, mostly renewable power, by doing the research, credit analysis and financial models behind each deal. The seat sits in the sustainable infrastructure group, in its energy work, which covers the electricity sector in the CEE and SEE regions of Europe.
The team puts money into projects that generate renewable power, and into electricity storage and the networks that carry power to homes and businesses. It does this through debt, meaning loans the bank expects to be repaid, and equity, meaning a share in the project that the bank later sells. The team also talks with governments about how their energy markets are regulated, so that more renewable power can be built.
