What the job is
You work out what data centres and other specialist buildings are worth, building the financial models that value them. The seat sits in the Data Centre Valuation & Advisory team of an international real estate consultancy in London. Investors, lenders and private equity buyers use your valuations to decide what to pay, how much to lend or what to report in their accounts.
Data centres are the buildings that house the computer servers behind the internet and cloud services. Their value rests on the income they earn as working businesses, so valuing one is closer to valuing a company than an empty office block. The seat is open at Surveyor or Senior Surveyor level, and Analysts with strong modelling skills are also considered.
