What the job is
You work out what the companies owned by a private equity firm are worth. A private equity firm buys companies with money from its investors, improves them and sells them later. Until a company is sold there is no market price for it, so someone has to estimate its value, and that is this seat. The values you produce tell the firm and its investors how the funds are doing.
