What the job is
You judge whether the fund managers and banks that trade derivatives with the bank are safe to deal with, and set the credit they get. When a client trades a derivative, such as a swap whose value moves with interest rates or currencies, one side can end up owing the other a lot of money. Your job is to make sure the bank is not left with a loss it cannot bear if a client fails.
Analyst here names the work rather than a junior rank. You look after a portfolio of clients, starting with large European fund managers and a number of European banks, and in time other non-bank financial firms and banks in other countries.
