You help a bank's infrastructure and energy lending team put together loans for big projects, doing the numbers, the paperwork and the checks behind each deal. Project finance means lending to a single project, such as a power plant or a road, where the loan is paid back from the money the project itself earns. The seat sits within the Infrastructure Pool, a shared group of people who are handed work across the wider Infrastructure/Energy group.

Here associate is an early rung. You support the transaction teams and more senior colleagues who win deals, put them together and then look after the loans once they are made. The staffer, a senior banker, hands out the work across the pool day to day, and you report formally to a director in the Infrastructure/Energy group.
