You analyse and help close deals that buy existing stakes in private equity funds, as an associate on a London secondaries team. The team is called Private Equity Fund Investments, LP Secondaries. A private equity fund raises money from investors, called limited partners, and locks it up for around ten years while it buys and sells companies. A secondary deal buys an investor's stake in such a fund before it ends, or buys a bundle of the fund's companies, so the seller gets its money back early. Your team invests the firm's own funds in these deals.

The seat covers the whole life of a deal, from finding it, through valuing and structuring it, to closing and then watching how it performs. Over time you take on more responsibility and lead on transactions.
