Banking, Financing, Full Time Analyst, London - United Kingdom 2027 (Applicable for 2026 Citi Summer interns only)
No deadline given. It closes when the places fill, which on a sought-after London desk is often weeks after it opens. Apply as if it closes tomorrow.
What this title actually means
Citi is looking for full-time analysts to join the Financing division in London. The advert says Financing works with corporate and government clients to develop, structure and implement financing packages to meet their capital needs, and that the division is comprised of over 20 different groups that provide many traditional investment banking experiences while carrying a heavy focus on the markets, similar to sales and trading. The analyst programme starts in July and kicks off with six weeks of training. Source
The bracket in the title is a gate: the posting is headed 'Applicable for 2026 Citi Summer interns only'. The role is based at 33 Canada Square, Canary Wharf, and currently offers a hybrid model with a mandatory three days in the assigned office and an optional two days from home, subject to business approval. Source
Nothing in this title is a seniority puzzle. Full Time Analyst is the entry rung, 2027 is the July start year rather than a class of degree, and 'Banking, Financing' names the half of the bank rather than a desk. The one piece of the title that decides whether you can apply at all is the bracket at the end.
The team
The advert does not say which desk you would join. Financing is described as over 20 different groups, and the analyst joins the division rather than a named team, so the placement is settled after the offer rather than at application. Whatever you say when you are asked what interests you is the input to that decision, so have a real answer ready.
The work described is a mixture of both sides of the bank: managing relationships with fixed income and equity clients, analysing clients' capital structure needs and possible solutions, building an understanding of the bank and institutional investor universe and the trends moving those pools of capital, originating, structuring and executing transactions both for strategic needs such as IPOs and leveraged buyouts and for ordinary refinancing, and showing clients how to limit interest rate and credit risk using derivatives. Source
About 119 people have held London roles in Citi's IBD since 2018 and 22 in Markets. A Financing seat straddles the two, which is what the advert means when it says the work resembles sales and trading as much as it does banking.
The firm
The posting sits in Citi's Institutional Banking job family group and the Investment Banking job family, full time, in London, and the advert says Citi values internal mobility and treats career growth as a question of when rather than if. Source
This is a Certified Role under the FCA and PRA Certification Regime, so joining depends on being assessed fit and proper on honesty, integrity and reputation, financial soundness, and competence and capability, through extensive interviews, self-disclosures, permitted criminal record checks, regulated reference checks, credit checks and other background screening. Source
About 318 people have held London roles at Citigroup as a whole since 2018, which is the size of house a July analyst class joins.
What this posting signals
Citi says it will recruit on a rolling basis and encourages you to apply as soon as possible. No deadline is given, and successful candidates are told they will be offered a competitive salary. Source
A July 2027 start posted on 7 September 2026 and restricted to the 2026 summer class is the conversion step of the annual cycle, not a separate hiring round. If you interned at Citi last summer this is your offer route. If you did not, no application here will be read, and the way in is the summer internship that runs a year ahead of it.
Rolling review on a conversion posting means seats go as returning interns accept them. Apply in the week it opens rather than waiting to see what else appears in the autumn.
Are you eligible?
You must be in your final year of university or have graduated, and be expected to achieve or have achieved a 2:1 or equivalent at undergraduate level in any degree discipline. Fluency in a second language is desirable but not essential, and an interest in business is asked for, alongside intellectual curiosity, strong communication, planning and organisational skills, and a commitment to mobility and flexibility. Source
Any degree discipline and no required work experience means the written gate is only the 2:1, and the real gate is the internship you already did. Nothing in the list asks for prior finance employment, because the posting assumes the summer already tested that.
